Registrant: The registrant is the person entering on behalf of another person or self-submitting. There are no limits on the number of entries a registrant may submit on behalf of another. A maximum of four entries is permitted for those self-submitting.
Entrant: The entrant is the named journalist whose work is submitted to the contest – the journalist whose byline appears on the work – the person to whom an award is given.
Entry Number: The entry number is based on the number of entry submissions for the entrant – not to be confused with the registrant.
2025 MRE Journalism Contest Entry Process
There are three steps to complete an entry to the contest.
The first is creating a registrant account.
The second is registering an entry, along with payment.
The third step contains two-parts.
- Part A is the actual entry submission.
- Part B is the journalist biography.
- Both parts are required for the first entry for an entrant.
Additional entries for the same entrant (entry 2-4)
- Repeat Step 2 – the registration process – for each contest entry number.
- Repeat Step 3 – select media type and corresponding entry number.
